Bluebird

Bluebird is great for beginners. The interlocking wood parts make it easier to build, and the quality materials increase your chance of success compared with other projects that show you how to make an ornithopter.

The Bluebird ornithopter kit can fly for up to a minute with the included rubber band. This ornithopter has a 16 inch wingspan and weighs 1/4 ounce. Kids 12 and up can make these ornithopters with a little supervision.

These rubber-band-powered ornithopters are a great starting point if you want to work your way up to making your own RC birds.
