Freebird is the original easy to build ornithopter. It was designed by Nathan Chronister in 1993. The Freebird has introduced thousands of students and hobbyists to the engaging pursuit of building their own flapping-wing flying machines. Other tutorials and model kits have imitated the Freebird design, but they don't always use the correct, lightweight materials. Building from the authentic Freebird design gives you the best chances to achieve success.
